  • Participation in Malaysia International Technology Expo 2012under the title of  Innovation Transfer into Market through 16 – 18/2/2012

The Supervisor of KSU Baqshan Chair of Bee Research Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Khazim was awarded three prizes namely the award of Intellectual Excellence from the International Forum of Intellectual Property besides two silver and bronze medals.
Dr. Al-Khazim was awarded these prizes for the inventions he presented on behalf of the Chair of Bee Research. The inventions include designing equipments and tools that suit beekeeping in local environment.
The exhibition was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia through 16-18/2/2012 under the title "Innovation Transfer into Market" with 580 attendants from various countries.
The inventions introduced by the Chair of Bee Research are part of 32 inventions demonstrated by King Saud University. The Chair's inventions were selected for competition according to specific scientific standards implemented by the KSU Innovation Center.

  • Eng. Abdullah Baqshan Chair for Bee Research wins a gold medal in Kuwait 4th International Fair of the Middle East Inventions (FME) 2011.

Held in Kuwait last November, the 4th International Invention Fair of the Middle East (FME) granted gold medal to the supervisor of KSU Baqshan Chair for Bee Research Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Khazim for his invention "Comprehensively integrated system to control humidity, temperature, & Co2 inside the honeybee colonies". The system provides optimal microenvironment conditions to keep bees and to increase bee products during summer.
The invention also was awarded another prize by the Patent Office of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. Expressing his appreciation, Dr. Al-Khazim stated that the invention reflects the efforts exerted by the Chair through modern vision and advanced innovations that contribute to the development of bee industry in Saudi Arabia. The achievement of the Chair is strongly supported by KSU administration to encourage the Chair's researchers and sponsoring distinguished scientific projects.

  • The Chair wins a gold medal in  Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions

Eng. Abdullah Baqshan Chair for Bee Research - KSU achieved a new international breakthrough by winning a gold medal in the 39th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions that was held on 6-10/4/2011. The gold medal was awarded for the invention introduced by the Chair's supervisor Dr. Ahmed Al-Khazim. The invention is a system to control humidity and temperature in honeybee colonies to provide optimal conditions that suit keeping the breeds of honeybees in a way that solves severe problems suffered by beekeepers in hot areas especially the death of bees and shortage of honey production in the bee colonies.

 
  • The Chair wins gold medal in the British Invention, Innovation, & Technology Show

Eng. Abdullah Baqshan Chair for Bee Research - KSU won a gold medal in the British Invention, Innovation, & Technology Show which was held recently in London. The Chair won the prize for the invention presented by the Chair's supervisor Dr. Ahmed Al-Khazim.
The British Invention Show is one of the most prominent events concerned with the innovations and inventions introduced by individuals and corporations. The event is an opportunity to gather inventors and businessmen. Regarding the winning invention, it is a distinguished one since it will significantly promote the bee industry in hot and low-humidity regions.
Commenting, the Chair's supervisor Dr. Ahmed Al-Khazim said that the invention represents a significant leap in the field of Saudi bee industry.
Dr. Al-Khazim also expressed his pleasure since the invention reflects the efforts exerted by the Chair and the support provided by King Saud University to the Chair's researchers.

  • Deanship Prize of Excellence for Social Cooperation & Community Service

Winning the Deanship Prize of Excellence for Social Cooperation & Community Service is an indicator of the huge efforts exerted by the Chair to serve the community so that it can improve the live conditions of beekeepers and needy families. The prize was received by the Chair's supervisor Prof. Ahmed Al-Khazim.

  • Innovation Center Prize (1431 -1432 A.H)

Eng. Abdullah Baqshan Chair for Bee Research was awarded the Innovation Center Prize for devising an innovative idea of a cell that filter salty water

 

                                

  • Silver Medal of Malaysia 10th International Expo for Innovation & Invention

From about 500 competitors in Malaysia 10th International Expo for Innovation & Invention, Eng. Abdullah Baqshan Chair for Bee Research won a silver medal. Through 18-20/2/2011, the Expo was held under the title of "Moving Innovations to Market" in Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Malaysia. The Chair's participation was a modern hive for keeping bees that is designed to suit the Saudi environment as it allows controlling humidity and temperature optimally to raise the larva. The new hive is a considerable achievement as it contributes to the development of bee industry in the Kingdom as well as other Arab countries  that have similar environmental conditions.
